“The curious paradox is that only when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change” – Carl Roger
“So it is extremely important to open yourself to yourself. Developing tenderness toward yourself allows you to see your problems and your potential accurately” – Chogyam Trungpa
Individual psychotherapy is a process dedicated to the exploration and resolution of issues relevant to the way in which we interact with life on a personal and/or relational level.
This process can be a very powerful means of self-discovery, healing, and growth. It can also be a way to receive support and find insight into relativity simple life situations.
The exploration we undergo together may lead to either short or long-term therapy depending on your individual needs, what arises during the process, and the pace and depth of exploration you find most comfortable.
Independent of the situation at hand, providing a safe, supportive, and caring environment, is central to my approach. We will establish a collaborative connection based on trust, humanness, and non-judgmental regard for your life situation.
From my perspective, there is fundamentally nothing wrong or nothing broken (in need of “fixing”) about how we are in the world, and how we relate to life. Rather what we face, are challenging and traumatic situations in need of understanding and care, and complexities in need of simplification.
I find it essential to approach our work together with respect, mindfulness, compassion, and genuine regard for you as a human being who is temporarily challenged by the unpredictability of life. I fundamentally believe that this supportive experience is essential to the emotional unfolding and to the courage to be.
